Eligible WSU employees can purchase CORETECH computers, tablets, and accessories through Payroll Deduct. Employees are required to pay an initial down payment of 10% and spread the remaining balance over 6, 12, or 24 pay periods, depending upon their current appointment status.

Want to make a purchase with Payroll Deduct? Please email our team at coretech@wsu.edu to get started. Include your name, WSU ID number, and the items you wish to purchase through Payroll Deduct. We generally respond to requests within 1-2 business days.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a current full-time (FTE) WSU employee or graduate student.
- Term employees must have at least three months remaining in their term.
- Must have valid CougarCard and WSU ID.
- Must not have any outstanding past-due debt owed to WSU.
Qualifying Purchases
- Any iOS, iMac, or Notebook of $350 or more can be purchased through payroll deduction.
- Other items may be added to the initial $350 purchase price at the time of the transaction, regardless of cost, up to a maximum of $2,500.
- Non-eligible items include service fees, labor charges, or parts for computer repair.
General Terms and Conditions
- The program applies to in-store or distant (email or phone) purchases.
- Payroll deduction can be spread between 6, 12, or 24 pay periods.
- New payroll deductions processed will incur a $20 set-up fee to be paid at the time of purchase.
- An initial payment of at least 10 percent of the total purchase price must be paid at the time of purchase.
- All devices and accessories are subject to Washington sales tax.
- Upon purchase, payroll deduction will begin in the next available pay period.
- No returns or exchanges on products purchased via payroll deduction.
- Employees must sign a CORETECH Payroll Deduction Purchase Agreement and Authorization Form to use this service.
- Payroll deduction may be used by Washington State University employees only. Employee family members are not eligible for payroll deduction.
- A WSU employee may only have one payroll deduction with CORETECH at any time. Any current CORETECH payroll deductions must be paid in full before a subsequent CORETECH payroll deduction may begin.
- Payroll deductions must be completely paid by the end of the deduction period. If a balance is due upon separation from WSU for any reason, the employee must notify CORETECH. If a balance still remains, the employee must pay the remaining balance immediately.
- Once internal collection efforts have failed, unpaid payroll deduction balances will be sent to an outside collection agency. Collection fees of up to 50 percent will be assessed on the unpaid balance of an account, in accordance with the Washington State Legislature Revised Code of Washington (See RCW19.16.500). Account holders may also be held responsible for additional court costs and attorney’s fees if legal action is deemed necessary.
- Payroll deductions can be paid off early at the WSU Cashiers’ Office with cash or check. Reference invoice numbers for the CORETECH deduction.
- CORETECH reserves the right to deny any payroll deduction.
